Academic experience

Dr. ZHOU Jie is the associate professor and head of the department of MICE Economics and Management of the College of Tourism and Service management, Nankai University, and the part-time researcher of the Conference and Exhibition Institute of Tianjin University of Commerce.

His main research interests focus on corporate governance, corporate strategy, business ethics, service innovation, MICE project management and governance, and MICE project planning. He has participated or presided over more than ten projects including Research on Strategic Transformation of MICE Enterprises and Research on MICE Project Governance, etc. As a sub-project leader, He participated in a major program of the National Natural Science Foundation of China and two major projects of the Key Research Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences under the Ministry of Education. He also presided over the completion of a project supported by the National Social Science Fund of China. He has published more than 40 articles including the effects of MICE-Volunteers’ Role Features on Service Performance: Research based on Moderating Effect of Volunteers’ Nonutilitarian Motivation, Study on the Service Perceptive Structure of MICE Professional Visitors-The Impact of Participating Motives on Service Perception and An Research on the Relationship among the Servitization of Manufacturing Companies, Technology Innovation Output and Corporate Performance, etc. He was the Chief editor of the Convention and Exhibition Marketing, which is a series of planning textbooks for undergraduates majoring in hotel management in colleges and universities of the Ministry of Education. He was also a member of the editorial board of Journal of Green Operations Management, Academy of Marketing Studies Journal, etc.

Industry experience, including industry related professional development

He actively participated in corporate consulting projects, undertaken and completed several corporate consulting projects from government departments or enterprises including Yanzhou Coal Mining Co., LTD, Tianjin Small and Medium-sized Enterprise Development Bureau, and Tianjin Port Group Co., LTD, etc. In 2021, as a member of the first batch of talents practice groups in Jinnan District, Tianjin, he carried out relevant work in the Management Committee of the Convention and Exhibition Economic Zone and evaluated the economic performance of multiple exhibition projects in Tianjin. He has participated in the standard approval of Convention and Exhibition Logistics Service Quality Specification and Professional Skill Level Standard of Event Project Management repeatedly. He was also served as an evaluation expert for MICE-related activities such as MICE Project Development Planning and Exhibition Project Design Plan for many times.
