Academic experience
Dr. YANG Dejin is an associate professor of Nankai University and vice president of the College of Tourism and Service Management, Nankai University. He joined Nankai University after receiving his PhD in urban and rural planning at Tianjin University. He is a national registered urban planner, a young tourism expert of the former National Tourism Administration, the Secretary General of the marine committee of Pacific Society of China (PSC), a consultant expert of Tianjin Development and Reform Commission, an expert of Tianjin tourism think tank and the executive director of the Marine Tourism Research Center. The main research directions are: tourism planning and strategy, cultural tourism and rural revitalization, marine tourism, etc. He has presided over nearly 10 national and provincial research projects and has published more than 20 review articles in journals such as Urban Planning Forum, Urban Planning, Economic Geography, Human Geography and Tourism Tribune, etc, together with other 4 works.

Dr. YANG served as Deputy Secretary General of Yibin municipal government and deputy director of urban and Rural Planning Bureau of Sichuan Province in 2018. During his tenure, he prepared more than 10 tourism related plans for Tianjin; Yibin, Sichuan; Chifeng, Inner Mongolia; Pingtan, Fujian; Beibu Gulf, Guangxi and Jincheng, Shanxi. Several senior management service reports have been approved by provincial and ministerial leaders. He has received many honors, such as outstanding individual of National College and Technical Secondary School Students' social practice activities of ‘Activity on Three Rural Areas’, the commendation of excellent suggestions for decision-making and consultation of Tianjin municipal government, and the top ten summer social practice instructors of Nankai University, etc.
