Academic experience

Dr. JIAO Yan is an Associate Professor in College of Tourism and Service Management, Nankai University, the Director of MTA (Master of Tourism Administration) Education Centre, Nankai University.

Her research interests focus on the analysis of tourist experiences in special lifecycles and the tourism development in rural area. She has contributed to a wide range of research projects and published articles in such journals as Tourism Tribune, Journal of Vacation Marketing. She has served as an anonymous reviewer for Tourism Tribune, Cornell Hospitality Quarterly and other journals

Industry experience, including industry related professional development

Dr. Jiao used to work on temporary post for half a year in Jinnan Tourism Administration, Tianjin，China. In 2015, Dr. Jiao was selected into the Training Program for Young Experts in Tourism Industry funded by China National Tourism Administration. Dr. Jiao actively participates in projects funded by governments and enterprises aiming to enhance the tourism development in China. Dr. Jiao has also provided some professional trainings for employees in tourism industry.
