Academic experience

Dr. CHENG, Hongbo joined the Department of MICE Economics and Management, College of Tourism and Service Management, Nankai University in 2009. Her research interests focus on the exhibition management, event management, tourism destination management, tourism sustainable development, etc. She has published several refereed journal articles in major domestic and international refereed journals and two textbooks, one of which is teaching material planned by the Tourism Management Teaching and Learning Steering Committee of the Ministry of Education. She has presided over five foundations, such as the National Social Science Foundation of China, the Humanities and Social Science Foundation of the Ministry of Education, and Tianjin Social Science Foundation, and participated in a number of funds as a principal participant.

Industry experience, including industry related professional development

Dr. Cheng, Hongbo is actively committed to the integration development of convention and exhibition education and industry. In 2012, she served as director of China Convention and Exhibition Education Federation. In 2015, she established the exhibition lab and developed supporting practical training courses. In 2017, she led the students in organising a photo exhibition for the former director of the Palace Museum. In 2020, she participated in the booth planning and designing of the 23rd China Beijing International High-Tech Expo.
