At the beginning of the lecture, Dean Xu Hong first welcomed the two guests on behalf of the college. She mentioned that the 'Guiding Journey' lecture series was an important initiative of the college to deeply connect with social talent needs, tapped into alumni resources from the industry, and carried out important work on professional training and employment-oriented education. Since its inception, it has received widespread praise from teachers and students. Now, with the vigorous development of rural revitalization, the demand for high-quality talents with professional knowledge and comprehensive capabilities in grassroots construction is urgent. The two guests invited to the lecture can better help students understand the national rural revitalization strategy from the perspective of tourism and gain insights into actual work on the front lines. She encouraged students to study diligently during the lecture, and think actively and hoped that more students would actively engage in the great practice of rural revitalization in the future.
Ding Jiandong delivered a lecture on the theme of “How Intangible Cultural Heritage Empowers Rural Construction: The Construction of Dongmen Fishing Village in Xiangshan County”. He started by introducing Xiangshan County as one of the seven national-level cultural and ecological protection areas and shared the development of research-oriented tourism projects based on the unique 'Fish Culture' intangible cultural heritage of Xiangshan. He summarized the practical experience of “consolidating the foundation, strengthening the foundation, seeking transformation, promoting integration, being grounded, displaying characteristics”. Ding Jiandong emphasized the need to actively promote the 'Fish Culture' of Xiangshan, explore a rural cultural tourism development model with Xiangshan characteristics, and strive to build Dongmen Fishing Village in Xiangshan County into a beautiful new village with a rich heritage, a strong atmosphere, distinct characteristics, and benefits for the people.
Guo Lianwen's lecture was titled with “Harboring Public Abilities, Growing Towards the Sun: Experiences in the Work of Selected Candidates in Government Agencies and Grassroots”. He shared his experiences and insights into working at the grassroots level after graduation. He first introduced the characteristics of the city where he works, Ningbo, using the keywords “port”, “production”, “city”, and “culture”. Subsequently, Guo Lianwen sequentially introduced his work experience in the Ningbo Municipal Committee General Office and Dongmen Fishing Village at the grassroots level, emphasizing that the work of selected candidates is challenging and an excellent opportunity to exercise comprehensive abilities. He warned students to maintain a positive attitude, stabilize their mentality, and stay focused when applying for selected candidates. He encouraged them not to be refined egoists but to genuinely love grassroots work, be driven by ideals, face challenges, and focus on self-cultivation and internal skills during the grassroots experience. Finally, he shared a poetic phrase, “The scenery is long and suitable for a broad view”, to inspire students to truly integrate “self into the greater self” and contribute to various positions needed by the motherland.
In the subsequent interactive session, the two guests answered questions from students on topics such as the transformation and upgrading of rural cultural tourism and the talent training policies for selected candidates.
