Recently, the China Tourism Industry Expo concluded in Tianjin. The event was attended by 4 institutions directly under the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, 5 national industry associations, 31 provincial and municipal cultural and tourism departments, and over 2,000 cultural and tourism enterprises. Its large scale and strong influence in the industry have made it a new platform for promoting cooperation and enhancing the educational quality of our school's tourism major. At this event, akin to the Whampoa Military Academy in the domestic tourism industry, the Nankai Tourism major played a vital role as a think tank during the preparation and execution of the tourism industry Expo. Many professors participated in various themed forums, contributing their expertise to the Nankai tourism field. For instance, at the "2023 High-quality Development of Tourism Industry" main forum, Xu Hong, Dean of the College, delivered a keynote speech on "The Path and Thinking of the Coordinated Development of Tourism in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region," addressing the foundation, advantages, challenges, and pathways for tourism development in this region. Professor Shi Peihua took part in the "Provincial and Municipal Cultural Tourism Group Innovation and Development Forum," suggesting that these groups will take on greater roles and embrace new developmental opportunities in the next stage. Professor Ma Xiaolong joined the "Jinjin Youdao New Media Helps the Cultural Tourism Industry 'Long Red' Roundtable Forum," discussing the impact of new technologies on tourism development and branding. Professor Chen Ye chaired the "Health Tourism and Camping Salon" round table, co-sponsored by the Health Tourism Branch of the China Tourism Association and the Self-drive Tour and Camping RV Branch, engaging in detailed discussions about current issues and future trends in China's camping and health tourism market. Vice President Yang Dejin delivered a keynote report on "Improving the Comfort and Attractiveness of Self-driving Travel" at the "13th China Tourism Industry Expo" national self-driving tourism development exchange meeting.

A major highlight of the expo was the successful hosting of the "First Urban Landmark Economic and Aesthetic Consumption Scene Creation Forum - 2023 Jinmei Forum," co-sponsored by the College of Tourism and Service Management of Nankai University and the Tianjin City Investment Group Asset Company. Initiated by Nankai Tourism Young Scholars and under the guidance of the Tianjin Culture and Tourism Bureau, the forum featured prominent cultural and tourism landmark operators from Shanghai Oriental Pearl, Wuhan Yellow Crane Tower, Chongqing Raffles, Guangzhou Tower, Tianjin Eye, and other cities. They engaged in comprehensive experience sharing and promotional exchanges. Additionally, representatives from Tianjin Museum, Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts, Xinhuanet, Guoyi Zhonglian Technology Group, Shenzhen Cultural Property Exchange, and others participated in in-depth discussions on landmark scene creation methods. The forum's outcomes were extensively covered by mainstream media, including China Travel News, China News Network, Xinhuanet, Sina.com, Sohu, Tianjin Daily, Jinwan Evening News, Jinyunrong Media, Northern Network, Nankai University News Network, and others, thus generating substantial industry influence.

During the expo, the college also organized visits and forum participation for teachers and students, creating an excellent platform for understanding industry practices and challenges, and for further study and research. This initiative represents an innovative approach to collaborative talent training in industry, university, and research, continuously improving and enhancing the quality of talent cultivation. Looking ahead, the College plans to leverage the opportunity provided by the permanent establishment of the China Tourism Industry Expo in Tianjin, to deepen the cooperative education mechanism between government, industry, academia, and research. Our goal is to train more outstanding tourism talents for the country and elevate our double-class construction to new heights.
