    Publication time:2023-06-09 18:32

The National Office of Philosophy and Social Sciences officially announced, on June 5th, the list of approved major projects under the National Social Science Foundation aimed at studying and interpreting the essence of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China. Professor Shi Peihua, along with the Director of the Provincial and Ministerial Collaborative Center for Modern Tourism Development at Nankai University, is leading the project titled "Research on the Layered Classification System for Promoting the Deep Integration of Culture and Tourism Development," which has been elevated to a key project, securing funding of 350,000 CNY.

Professor Shi Peihua's team's key project, aligned with Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, fully embodies the principles of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China. It stands as an endeavor serving the strategic arrangements of the Congress, following the Ministry of Culture and Tourism's directive to "advance the integration of culture and tourism comprehensively, profoundly, and extensively." The research aims to explore theoretical and practical models facilitating the deep integration of culture and tourism across multiple perspectives and dimensions. It intends to propose innovative objectives emphasizing "height, depth, breadth, intensity, and thickness" in the integration of culture and tourism.

The project encompasses five sub-topics. Firstly, it delves into in-depth research on the functional value, top-level logic, and target objectives of the strategic integration of the 20th Congress with culture and tourism. Secondly, it conducts a diagnostic analysis of the current status of deep integration, exploring restrictive factors via hierarchical classification research, and emphasizing depth. Thirdly, it focuses on the broad scope of integration, constructing a framework system for deep culture and tourism integration. Fourthly, it enhances the intensity of integration by researching trends, focus areas, and implementation pathways. Lastly, it utilizes case studies to augment the depth of research on cultural and tourism integration across various types, thereby forming theoretical advancements on institutional mechanisms in cultural and tourism integration development and constructing a Chinese discourse system in this field.
