On the evening of April 21st, the College of Tourism and Service Management, in collaboration with the Nankai University Youth League Committee, successfully held the "Elegance on the Toe - Appreciating the Beauty of Ballet Art" aesthetic education activity. The Tianjin Song and Dance Theatre Ballet, which has undertaken multiple national level major performance tasks and won numerous championships in major ballet competitions at home and abroad, was specially invited to perform at the school. Li Jianjun and Chen Chuan, Vice Deans of the Tianjin Song and Dance Theatre, Wang Wei, the Secretary of CPC Committee of the College of Tourism and Service Management, and Dong Junyan, the Deputy Secretary of the Youth League Committee of Nankai University, attended the event. More than 800 teachers and students participated in the event.

Hosted and introduced by Liu Yuhao, the member of the Chinese Dancers Association and director of the Tianjin Dancers Association, the audience enjoyed excerpts from various classic ballets such as "Bachata," "Swan Lake," "Don Quixote," and "Daughter's Heart." The seamless blend of classical and modern, Eastern and Western elements allowed the audience to fully savor the enchanting beauty of ballet.

Ballet troupe members interacted warmly with the audience during the transitions between performances, inviting students to understand and learn basic ballet knowledge, including hand and foot positions, as well as technical skills. Lucky attendees were even given the opportunity to try on pointe shoes, providing them with a close-up experience of the immense charm of ballet and a deeper understanding of the undisclosed hardships and professionalism of ballet dancers.

The performance concluded amidst enthusiastic applause, and students expressed their appreciation for not only gaining fundamental knowledge of ballet but also experiencing the elegance and beauty of this art form. They also gained insights into the persistence and dedication of ballet dancers, exemplified by the phrase "ten years of hard work offstage." This artistic education class inspired students to actively embrace the influence of outstanding artistic works, learn from the excellent qualities embodied by artists, and continuously elevate their own aesthetic sensibilities and overall cultural literacy.

It is reported that this event is part of the "Dream Chasing Journey" aesthetic education practice series activities of the College of Tourism and Service Management, as well as the "Youth Vitality Weekend" series activities of Nankai University, creating a lively, healthy, and positive high-level campus cultural atmosphere. Taking this event as an opportunity, the College of Tourism and Service Management has specially invited Li Jianjun to work as a practical mentor for aesthetic education. We will further strengthen cooperation and focus on improving students' aesthetic ability and cultural literacy through organizing diverse and rich content activities, achieving the goal of beautifying, educating, and cultivating students through aesthetics, and contributing to their comprehensive development.
