MTA Education Center of the College of Tourism and Service Management held an online seminar on high-quality student training on Dec. 9th, 2022. The seminar was hosted by Associate Professor Jiao Yan, Director of MTA Education Center, and attended by Professor Xu Hong, Dean of the College of Tourism and Service Management, Professor Yao Yanbo, Vice Dean of the College of Tourism and Service Management, MTA supervisors and administrative cadres of MTA Center.
Vice Dean Yao Yanbo introduced the background and original intention of this conference and pointed out that our country and Nankai University attach great importance to the high-quality development of graduate students. The quality of graduate education is inseparable from the in-depth communication of the supervisor on the characteristics of the MTA professional degree.
The discussion mainly focuses on case teaching and dissertation guidance. Five teachers, including Tuo Yanzhen, Zhang Kun, Yao Yanbo, Wang Jingna, and Huang Jing, shared and communicated on the construction of their MTA school-level teaching case projects. There is not only the introduction of case writing experience but also the thinking of teaching case application in this process.
Wang Zheng, a teacher at MTA Education Center, shared with the supervisors the key nodes and important content in the process of the MTA dissertation. Jiao Yan emphasized how to improve the quality of guidance of MTA dissertations, improve the practical and scientific nature of professional dissertations, pointed out the different evaluation standards of professional master's dissertations and academic master, compared the evaluation system of professional dissertations in partner universities, and summarized the common problems in the evaluation of professional dissertation in Nankai University.
Dean Xu Hong made a concluding speech, affirming the necessity of this seminar, and hoping to establish the teaching case base of Nankai University MTA, integrate teaching and scientific research, cultivate professional degree students with high quality, and play a leading role in the secretariat of MTA Teaching Steering Committee.
