From October to November, 2022, the College of Tourism and Service Management held a one-month advanced mathematics remedial class to help freshmen of year 2022 to adapt to university life as soon as possible and improve their ability to learn advanced mathematics, which provided freshmen with one-on-one question-and-answer channels and excellent courses to learn advanced mathematics.
The tutorial class for advanced mathematics adopts a mixed online and offline mode, arranges the tutorial course for 2 hours once a week, and provides recording and playback after class, which is convenient for students to watch and study repeatedly. At the same time, in order to meet students’ personalized and specific needs for answering questions, this activity adopts the online real-time one-on-one answering mode between volunteers and students, which makes the counseling of advanced mathematics more timely and efficient.
On October 30th, the Advanced Mathematics Tutorial Class officially started in Room 112 of Balitai Main Building, Nankai University. During this period, the volunteers prepared their tutorials well and attended the class seriously, and made pre-class materials according to the feedback of relevant opinions, thus adjusting the difficulty and progress of the class in time. After the class, the four volunteers answered questions for the students online at any time to solve each student's personalized questions about advanced mathematics. At the same time, the academic department collects students’ questions in advanced mathematics learning through questionnaires, and volunteers sort them out and answer them in a unified way, so that students will be more confident to prepare the upcoming final exam.
The "Advanced Mathematics Tutorial Class" ended on November 27th. Almost 80 people participated in the training session, and indicated that they had gained a lot from the activity, which helped them learn advanced mathematics.
The College of Tourism and Service Management will regularly and continuously carry out various academic assistance activities such as advanced mathematics assistance, continuously enhance students’ learning motivation, focus on improving students’ learning ability, and fully serve students to grow into talents.
