On December 18th, the 7th World Mazu Culture Forum was held in Meizhou Island, Putian, Fujian, which is Mazu’s hometown. Shi Peihua, the professor of our college and director of the collaborative innovation center of modern tourism development, was invited to attend the forum and gave a keynote speech on "Key Projects of Putian Cultural Tourism Economic Investment and Investment and Excellent Tourism Routes of Puyang Kaichun" in the sub-forum of Mazu Culture and Cross-Strait Cultural Tourism Development Forum.
According to the in-depth analysis of the value and potential of cultural and tourism development in Putian, Professor Shi Peihua proposed key projects and investment directions to promote the development of its cultural tourism economy. The in-depth excavation and elaboration of Putian’s culture and tourism aroused wide resonance and praise from the participants. In addition, entrusted by Putian City, Professor Shi Peihua is presiding over the compilation of "Putian Cultural Tourism Economic Development Plan" and "Putian Coastal Tourism Development Plan", and exploring a new mode of combining planning with providing all-round intellectual services to promote the economic development of Putian’s Cultural Tourism, so as to help Putian City explore the path of Chinese modernization.
Co-sponsored by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Ministry of Natural Resources, the China Academy of Social Sciences, the Macao Special Administrative Region Government and the People's Government of Fujian Province, this forum advocates the Mazu's spirit of "virtue, kindness and great love" and the marine civilization concept of "sea of peace, cooperation and harmony", which promotes the exchange and mutual learning between Mazu culture and world civilization, and makes positive contributions to promoting world peace and development. Mr. Su Hui, the Vice President of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and Chairman of the Central Committee of the Taiwan Alliance, attended and delivered speeches. Zhang Yan, member of the Standing Committee of Fujian Provincial Committee of China, Minister of Propaganda, Gao Peiyong, Vice President of China Academy of Social Sciences, Leong Wai Man, Director of Cultural Affairs Bureau of Macao Special Administrative Region Government, Qiao Jie, Executive Vice President of Peking University and Academician of China Academy of Engineering, and other leading experts attended and delivered speeches.
