In order to strengthen sports education and promote the spirit of hard work, on March 30, the Sports Department of the School of Tourism and Service jointly held the launching ceremony of the sports season of "Traveling in Spring, Sports at the Right Time", inviting "Chinese Blade Warriors" and running around the world "One-legged Pan" Pan Junfan, amputee with the farthest leg, shared inspirational life stories and carried out "Nankai Garden" directional jogging. Wang Wei, Secretary of CPC Committee in our college, and Yang Xiaojing, Deputy Secretary of CPC Committee and Vice Dean, attended the event, and nearly 200 faculties and students from various colleges participated in the event.

 

At the beginning of the event, Wang Wei gave a speech and led the students to review the fine tradition of Nankai University's sports education, and expressed the hope that through this event, students can learn Mr. Pan Junfan's spirit of not giving up when facing difficulties, and enjoy springtime, strengthen work out, improve physical fitness, and stimulate campus vitality. Later, Wang Wei expressed his sincere thanks to Pan Junfan and gave him Nankai souvenirs on behalf of the school.

During the interview, Mr. Pan shared his inspirational stories with all the students based on his own experience and centered on "confidence in life". He said: "Life is like a game of fighting monsters and upgrading, we must keep striving day by day", and encouraged the students to work hard and be strong and confident. In addition, he also interacted cordially with the students, carried out sports challenges, and presented the signed autobiography "Living This Life" to the students who succeeded in the challenge, and everyone enjoyed the event.

Afterwards, under the leadership of Pan Junfan, the teachers and students took a three-kilometer directional jog around Nankai Park to feel the beautiful spring time, and took a group photo in front of the portrait of Premier Zhou.The event ended successfully with laughter. The students said that they learned the sportsmanship of hard work through this event, and they will also workout more in the future and hone their will to fight.

It is reported that the College of Tourism and Service would continue to hold a series of sports season activities such as badminton matches for faculties and students, fun sports games, etc., in order to continue Nankai's fine sports tradition, further promote sports education, and promote students’ all-round development.
