Associate Professor Zhou Jie, director of the Exhibition Economy and Management Department, attended the conference, and Associate Professor Wang Jingna, deputy director of the Exhibition Economy and Management Department, presided over the meeting.
At the beginning of the sharing conference, Professor Zhou Jie introduced the current situation and development of the Exhibition Economy and Management major of the Tourism and Service College and responded to the frequently mentioned questions raised by students in the previous survey questionnaire. He then explained the overall situation of professional education to the students.
In the guest-sharing section, the first to share was Bai Yuyan, an outstanding graduate of the class of 2013. Currently, she works as the department director for industrial exhibition projects and the Shanghai office at Nanjing Stuttgart Joint Exhibition Co., Ltd. Using her personal academic and employment experiences as an example, Bai Yuyan introduced the scope of work in the exhibition industry, including specific departments such as exhibition organizers, conference organizers, venue operators, related cooperative partners, and first-party companies, and based on her work experience, interpreted the skills and personal qualities that companies value in recruitment to the students.
Next, Brother Chen Feng shared the theme of "Exhibition is a Professional That Makes People Reliable". Brother Chen Feng currently works at the National Convention and Exhibition Center (Tianjin) and is pursuing a Master's degree in Tourism Management at the School of Tourism and Service. He mainly talked about the reasons for choosing the exhibition profession, as well as his personal learning and work experience in the exhibition field, and growth plans. Brother Chen Feng emphasized that exhibition is a highly comprehensive profession, and true mastery comes from learning and application, and he provided advice for students on internships and employment. Brother Hu Gangfeng shared his career experience and industry development trends. Brother Hu Gangfeng is currently a supervisor at Hangzhou Qianjiang New City Investment Group Co., Ltd. He analyzed the career paths and growth plans for exhibition professionals based on specific cases of Hangzhou's exhibition industry's urban influence, venue construction, and development prospects.
Finally, under the organization of Teacher Wang Jingna, the three senior brothers and sisters conducted a roundtable discussion on the questions raised by the students, interpreting topics such as the talent demand, exhibition planning process, professional employment competitiveness, exhibition consumption, and future development trends of the exhibition industry under the epidemic. Students interacted frequently with teachers and senior brothers and sisters in the barrage and raised many valuable questions, and they received professional answers. The conference ended in a warm atmosphere.
This sharing session not only provided a window for new students in the School of Tourism to understand the exhibition profession but also brought many inspirations for their future life planning.
