(Correspondent: Wang Yijun) Recently, Professor Shi Peihua applied for the 2022 Science and Education Department Think Tank Research Project under the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, entitled "Rescue Path and Innovative Development Strategies for Tourism Companies Impacted by COVID-19," based on the collaborative innovation center for the development of modern tourism industry between provincial and ministerial levels. The project (Project No. 22SZK10) has been approved for implementation, with a research period of one year. The project team consists of Professor Chen Ye, Associate Professor Yang Dejin, Associate Professor Tuo Yanzhen, and Deputy Researcher Li Zhong of the Collaborative Innovation Center.
The project focuses on the new changes, trends, opportunities, and challenges in the tourism industry under the impact of the epidemic, combining rescue and development with the transformation and innovation of tourism enterprises. The main research areas include the difficulties and pain points in the operation and development of tourism enterprises under the background of COVID-19, the experience and enlightenment of typical case rescue policies, the implementation effect of tourism rescue policies, the new development opportunities for tourism enterprises under the challenge of COVID-19, and the countermeasures and suggestions for optimizing innovation and rescue of tourism enterprises. The project emphasizes precise management of tourism rescue policies, promotion of innovative rescue experiences, and policy optimization suggestions. Through in-depth enterprise surveys and visits, expert discussions, and literature analysis, the research team will conduct in-depth discussions on the rescue path and innovative development strategies for the tourism industry. The research results will be presented in a research report and submitted to the Think Tank of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
The Collaborative Innovation Center for the Development of Modern Tourism Industry at Nankai University is the only national collaborative innovation center in the tourism industry and a pilot unit for the construction of cultural and tourism industry think tanks. It is also a source of think tanks for the China Think Tank Index (CTTI) and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
