(Correspondent: Li Zhong) On July 12th, the Cultural and Tourism Department's Industry Think Tank Construction Pilot Unit Work Promotion Meeting was held in Jinan, Shandong. Tao Cheng, the Director-General of the Science and Technology Department of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, and Wang Bingchun, the Deputy Director-General of the Shandong Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, attended the opening ceremony and gave speeches. The first 19 industry think tank construction pilot units, including our school's jointly built Modern Tourism Industry Development Collaborative Innovation Center with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, attended the meeting.

 

At the meeting, Professor Shi Peihua from our school, on behalf of the Modern Tourism Industry Development Collaborative Innovation Center jointly built with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, introduced the main achievements of the selected think tank pilot units over the past year: firstly, based on the national social science fund major project "Research on Improving the National Happiness Index through Cultural and Tourism Industry," research on the happiness industry system and typical case studies has been carried out; secondly, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, interdisciplinary research on "Tourism + Medicine" collaborative innovation has been conducted, contributing to breakthroughs in discipline construction and talent training; thirdly, a series of academic achievements have been made in the new research fields of technology empowerment for cultural tourism, "tourism+" and "+tourism", and the publication of the series of books "China Tourism Development Model"; fourthly, support for the development of key regional cultural tourism in Tianjin, Gansu, Hainan, etc., reflecting the role of think tanks.

 

It is reported that our school's Modern Tourism Industry Development Collaborative Innovation Center jointly built with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism was selected as a source think tank of the China Think Tank Index (CTTI) in 2020 and as an industry think tank construction pilot unit of the cultural and tourism industry in 2021. The center focuses on the main directions of cultural and tourism development planning and policy research, research on a happy and healthy modern tourism system, and research on red tourism and red culture. It focuses on national strategies, gathers innovative forces, and builds interdisciplinary cooperation platforms for discipline construction, talent cultivation, and industry-university-research collaboration through cross-collaboration.
