On August 24, 2022, Professor Xu Hong delivered a keynote speech entitled "Digital Empowerment for Rural Revitalization and Creative Development of Rural Tourism" at the 10th Cross-Straits Tourism Symposium and Bed & Breakfast Tourism Development Summit held in Beijing. The Cross-Straits Travel and Tourism Symposium, held for nine sessions since 2008, is an academic event co-founded by universities in Mainland and Taiwan. It has played an important role in promoting academic, tourism, and cultural exchanges between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait, and has developed into an academic exchange brand with strong influence on both sides of the Strait. Professor Xu Hong also gave her written opinion as an expert diagnosis of the development of the Bed & Breakfast industry of Mentougou District, Beijing on the morning of August 25.
