At 14:00 on June 13, 2022, the College of Tourism and Service Management held a work forum of the alumni associations. The conference took a hybrid form of both online and offline. the president of the Tourism Alumni Association, Sun Guowei, the vice presidents, Su Hongyu and Jiang Qing, the Chairman of the Board, Liu Min, the president of the MTA Alumni Association, Wu Kai, the vice president, Zhang Yu, and the secretary-general Zhu Mingmin were invited to participate in the forum. The Secretary of the Party Committee of the College, Wang Chenghui, the Dean of the College, Xu Hong, and the Associate Dean of the College, Yang Dejin attended the meeting, and the forum was chaired by the Associate Dean, Yang Dejin.
Professor Xu Hong, the Dean of the College, welcomed the representatives of the two alumni associations who participated in the forum despite their busy schedules, and expressed the heartfelt thanks and sincere greetings to the leaders of the alumni associations who have been caring and supporting the construction of the College for a long time. Professor Xu briefed the alumni on the development of the College from the aspects of subject ranking, personnel training, scientific research, social services, and cultural inheritance. At the same time, she emphasized that the alumni are the most valuable wealth for the development of tourism subject and the growth of teachers of the college, and it is necessary to conduct alumni work with heart, affection and effort.
The representatives of the alumni associations enthusiastically participated in the following discussion session, sharing the experiences and looking forward to the prospects based on the work features of the associations. At the same time, the participants also had in-depth discussions on the specific issues such as how to link the curriculum system of the college and the practice, how to smooth the communication channels between the alumni association and the college, and how to leverage alumni resources to strengthen the cooperation with local governments.
Finally, Wang Chenghui, the Secretary of the Party Committee of the College, made a concluding remark, expressing his gratitude to the alumni for their suggestions on the development and construction of the College. These sincere suggestions and fruitful opinions are not only the collection of the wisdom of the vast number of the alumni, but also the carrier of the good wishes of the alumni for the construction and development of the college. He commented that the alumni work is of great significance to the development of the college, and the development and growth of the college cannot live without the care and support of the alumni. The college will actively carry out alumni work in the future reform and development, continuing to gather alumni strength, as well as drawing a blueprint for development.
This forum summarized the suggestions and views of the Tourism Alumni Association and the MTA Alumni Association on the development of the college and the alumni work, which is of great significance to improve the alumni working mechanism of the college, enhancing the service level of the alumni, and promoting the alumni work to a new level.
