(Correspondent: Wang Hongyu) Since June, to support students' recent home and on-campus learning and help them alleviate anxiety and complete their current stage of learning, the First Wisdom Academy has launched two teacher-student communication activities: "Employability Skills" and "Love Classroom". The two teacher-student communication activities innovatively adopt a dialogue mode in which students host, students propose needs, and teachers and students chat together, truly taking a key step in carrying out teacher-student activities centered on "students".
On June 6th, three mentors from the First Wisdom Academy, Li Chuanyong, Cai Hongmei, and Han Shaoping, organized a "Meet with Chuanyong" teacher-student chat with the theme of "abilities valued by enterprises", with 14 students from the First Wisdom Academy, Moore Academy, and Shannon Academy participating. The activity was hosted and questioned by students, who raised concerns such as "future career crises" and "how to deal with personal setbacks" which are both current experiences and related to the future. The mentors provided answers from multiple perspectives such as "resilience is the most important skill for 21st-century talents", "lifelong learning", and "positive psychology".
Meanwhile, the college is collecting communication needs from all students. The students expressed that romantic psychology is an important aspect of university life, but the college does not offer courses on this topic. In response to the students' request, four mentors, Yao Yanbo, Li Xia, Han Lihong, and Du Ping, opened the "Love Classroom" teacher-student communication activity. At this exchange meeting, the four teachers shared their views and opinions on love from the perspectives of life experience and "intimate relationships," and discussed specific issues such as social anxiety and relationships with the opposite sex with the students. The mentors all expressed that life and values are the most fundamental elements in establishing emotional relationships. In emotional relationships, mutual support is crucial, and both parties are responsible for maintaining and repairing the relationship.
The First Wisdom College has always attached great importance to dialogue and communication between mentors and students, striving to establish understanding, communication, and recognition between professional teachers and students in a cross-disciplinary atmosphere. In the face of this year's challenging situation of epidemic prevention and control, communication and contact between mentors and students have become increasingly important for students to successfully navigate this special period. In the future, the First Wisdom College will further focus on student needs, adhere to the college's educational philosophy, and create a platform for mentors and students to grow in wisdom and develop together, helping students to overcome confusion, gain confidence, develop skills, and establish public abilities.
