On August 8th, our college held an online expert review meeting on the application for adding a master's degree program in exhibition management. The meeting invited experts and scholars from seven well-known tourism colleges and universities in China, including Professor Luo Qiuju, Vice Dean of the School of Tourism at Sun Yat-sen University, Professor Dai Guangquan, Chair of the Exhibition Economy and Management Department at South China University of Technology, Professor Zhang Hui, Dean of the Institute of Modern Tourism Development at Beijing Jiaotong University, Professor Lin Derong from the Department of Tourism at Xiamen University, Associate Dean Li Zhiyong from the School of Tourism at Sichuan University, Professor Lv Xingyang from the Tourism Management Department at Southwestern University of Finance and Economics, and Professor Zhang Guanghai from the School of Management at Ocean University of China. Wang Chenghui, Secretary of the Party Committee of the College of Tourism and Service, Dean Xu Hong, Vice Dean Yao Yanbo, and Director Zhou Jie of the Exhibition Economy and Management Department attended the meeting.
Vice Dean Yao Yanbo chaired the meeting. Dean Xu Hong introduced the background of the review meeting, and Director Zhou Jie reported to the experts on the overall argumentation ideas and framework for adding the master's degree program. The seven experts carefully listened to the report and provided precise and professional opinions on the name of the master's degree program, positioning of training direction, curriculum design, research direction, theoretical basis and system, enrollment, and schooling. In addition, the experts also made specific suggestions based on the experience of exhibition management discipline construction in their own schools, on the advantages and characteristics of tourism and exhibition disciplines at Nankai University. Finally, the experts unanimously agreed to add the master's degree program in exhibition management. Secretary Wang Chenghui spoke last, expressing deep gratitude for the professional opinions raised by the experts and confidence in the development of the college and the exhibition discipline.
The successful holding of this external expert review meeting not only plays an important role in promoting the development of the college's exhibition management major, but also further promotes the construction and development of the exhibition management discipline nationwide, leading the way for the country.
