On the afternoon of October 29, the international student exchange meeting of the College of Tourism and Service Management was successfully held in Conference Room 333. The Dean Professor Qiu Hanqin, Dr. Zhang Beile, Dr. Su Xing and Mr. Yang Lengqian from the International Student Office of the college, as well as 10 international students in the college participated in the event. At the beginning of the event, the teachers and international students first introduced themselves, deepening mutual understanding and clarifying their learning conditions respectively. On behalf of all the teachers and students of the college, Professor Qiu Hanqin welcomed the new international students who joined our college and encouraged them to cherish the precious time spent studying abroad by sharing her experience of studying abroad.
The international students in our school come from many countries, including Mexico, South Korea, Sudan, Egypt, Rwanda, Armenia and Uzbekistan. Among them, the new international students who joined the college this semester include An Ran, a PhD candidate from Egypt, Musa, a PhD candidate from Sudan, Kim Soomin, a master student from South Korea, and Tu Bei, a master student from Rwanda. During the event, the international students introduced to each other the different cultures and customs of their own countries, expressing their feelings in study and life, the difficulties they encountered temporarily, and their expectations for the future of the college. As for these difficulties and expectations, Professor Qiu Hanqin and the teachers of the International Students Office responded respectively and expressed that the college will build a variety of platforms to help new and old international students to adapt to the life of studying in China smoothly. The atmosphere of the orientation was lively, and the new and old international students enhanced mutual understanding and added WeChat to each other.
The work of international students is an important part of our college in the process of improving the internationalization level of the college. Through holding international student exchange meetings, the college actively builds a communication and exchange platform for international students, so as to better guarantee their study and life in China.
