ENTER22@Nankai: e-Tourism Conference was successfully held from January 11 to 14, 2022 with the theme of "Preparing for the Return of Tourism: A New Future of E-Tourism". Hosted by by Nankai University, undertook by College of Tourism and Service Management at Nankai University, and co-organized by the International Federation for IT and Travel & Tourism (IFITT), the conference was conducted in the form of Zoom Conference plus Live Broadcast, with a Ph.D. workshop on January 11 and a main conference from January 12 to14. A total of 120 scholars in the field and industry professionals all over the world registered to attend the conference. 878 people watched the live broadcast platform with a total viewing time of 42313 minutes.

The opening ceremony was officially held on the afternoon of January 12. Liang Qi, the deputy secretary of the Party Committee at Nankai University, Juho Pesonen, the President (interim) of IFITT, and Qiu Hanqin, Dean and outstanding professor of college of Tourism and Service Management, delivered speeches respectively. Anyu Liu, co-chairman of ENTER22 and Assistant Professor at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, moderated the meeting.
Liang Qi, the Deputy Secretary, said that it is of great significance to hold the ENTER Conference for the first time in Asia, which is also a new starting point for the 40 years of tourism development in Nankai. He said that people can take this opportunity to discuss such important topics as the high-quality development of tourism in the context of the epidemic and new technologies to help the healthy development of tourism.

The conference consists of three parts: keynote speech, roundtable forum and parallel forum. Eight keynote speeches on topics of "The Impact of the Internet and Data on China's Tourism Industry", "Digital Happiness in tourism", "Hotel Services and Next-Generation Technology", "Digital Age and International City Brand", "Tourism Enterprise Information Capacity Building", "Digital Education in Tourism and Hospitality Industry", "Smart Destination Construction", "Global Hotel Industry and Data Analysis", etc., were delivered. 22 special guests focused on "Data and Destination Management", "Smart Cities and Human Settlements" and "Smart Tourism in the Post-epidemic Era" were shared and discussed in 7 roundtable discussions. The parallel forum attracted more than 30 academics and students from universities to present their paper on digital tourism, destination management, UGC, smart tourism, metaverse tourism, tourism digital education, COVID-19 and other content.
In addition, ENTER22 set up a special Ph.D. workshop on January 11, showing a total of 25 doctoral research projects, and invited experts and scholars to provide suggestions on each research plan and provide constructive suggestions. Six doctoral students from our college participated in the workshop. The Ph.D. researchers Du Yingying and Gao Lanfei won the second and third places of the "Best Research Program Award" respectively. The closing ceremony was held on January 14, 2022. Juho Pesonen, the President (interim) of IFITT, announced that enter2023 would be held in Johannesburg, South Africa, from January 18 to 20, 2023. Finally, as the host of enter22, our hospital invited guests to watch the wonderful review video of the four-day conference, which was unanimously praised by the guests present. The meeting was successfully concluded in a pleasant atmosphere.

It is reported that the International Federation for IT and Travel & Tourism (IFITT) is an international academic organization with the longest history in the field of tourism and information technology. It aims to discuss the application and impact of science and technology and emerging information and communication technology (ICT) in the tourism industry, and is committed to building a high-quality exchange platform for experts, scholars, enterprises, governments and other relevant organizations. The full name of the ENTER international conference is "ENTER: eTourism Conference". It is an annual event of IFITT. In the early years, it was jointly sponsored by European computer engineering scholars and the tourism industry. It has become an interdisciplinary International Conference covering IT, tourism management and marketing, management engineering and related social disciplines. The successful holding of ENTER22 is the first time that the conference has entered Asia in 20 years, and Nankai University has become its first Asian host.
