(Correspondent: Luo Yinghui, Wu Danmeng) Recently, the research project "Research on the Impact of Public Space Occupation by Tourism Activities on Local Residents' Happiness in Hot Cities" of College of Tourism and Service Management, Nankai University, won the Special Prize of the 16th "Challenge Cup", Tianjin Extracurricular Academic Science and Technology Works Competition for University Students, with a team of four 2017 undergraduate students, including Luo Yinghui, Wang Jingyue, Sun Leilei and Wu Danmeng, supervised by Associate Professor Tuo Yanzheng.

The research explores a common problem of global tourism city governance, based on improving the happiness of residents in China tourism destinations, studies the mechanism of the impact of tourism activities occupying public space on the happiness of residents, enriches the theories related to urban public space and the happiness of residents in tourism destinations, and provides an opportunity for hot tourism cities to balance the interests of hosts and customers. The project was supported by the National Social Science Foundation of China (20ZD04), "Research on Cultural Industry and Tourism to Enhance National Happiness Index", and was presented at the annual meeting of the Journal of Tourism Research in China in Guangzhou in November 2020. The project was awarded the excellent prize of "100 projects" of Nankai University undergraduate innovation and research in 2020, and the first prize of the third "President's Cup" innovation and entrepreneurship competition (philosophy and social science category) of Nankai University in 2021.
