Research sharing on “Building an international TCM tourism destination in the Post-COVID-19 era -- a case study of The Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region”

On May 14th, the Doctoral forum of the College of Tourism and Service Management was held in 111 Multi-function Hall of the College. Xue Tao, a doctoral candidate in 2019, shared his research with the theme of "Building an international TCM Tourism destination in the Post-COVID-19 era -- a case study of The Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region". The forum was hosted by Li Chunxiao. Graduate students of the College participated in the forum online and offline.

Centering on the research theme, Xue Tao reported and presented the research from six aspects: research background, research questions and objectives, literature review, research methods, data collection and analysis, findings and conclusions, theories and management implications. In the report, Xue Tao led the participants to gradually understand the concept, connotation and boundary of medical tourism based on the analysis of the current situation of COVID-19 in the world and the reflection of the development of medical services and tourism industry at home and abroad, and put forward the concept and characteristics of medical tourism based on the characteristics of Traditional Chinese medicine. Through case study, the study of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region involved in traditional Chinese medicine hospital, government officials, industry park, university scholars interest subjects conducted interviews, and identifies the motivation for the development of international medical tourism destination Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and obstacles, and puts forward a new theory of reflection and practice, in order to help the development of regional integration of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and achieve greater development.

Students asked questions and exchanged views on Xue Tao's report, and put forward useful suggestions for further research.
