On the afternoon of April 2nd, Professor Zhu Guanglei, former Vice President and Provost of Nankai University, was invited to give a lecture at the college with the theme “Building a Service-oriented Government that People Are Satisfied with -- Some Understandings on the Construction rules of service-oriented Government”. The 2018 and 2019 undergraduate students, all graduate students and some teachers of the College attended the lecture.
Professor Zhu Guanglei first introduced the development background of the construction of service-oriented government, explained the premise and essence of the construction of service-oriented government, and expounded the understanding of the construction of “service-oriented government” from different perspectives, and emphasized the importance of “public service system construction” in hardware and “improving the level of government service” in software. Then, taking the education industry as an example, Professor Zhu talked about his understanding of the classification of public service system from three levels of “core”, “basic” and “comprehensive”. Professor Zhu Guanglei believes that the construction of service-oriented government is a process of “multiple subjects” and “two-way interaction”, which requires the vigorous participation of all the public. Professor Zhu guanglei finally stressed that in order to mitigate the adverse effects of the combination of “two industrialization” during the period of realizing the goal of building a service-oriented government, the government should first continue to strengthen its management capacity and transform from a management oriented government to a government that takes both management and service into consideration.
In the Q&A session, Professor Zhu patiently answered questions like “measurement standards for building service-oriented government performance in the future” and “concerns about opening the campus to the public”. The lecture lasted for two hours and ended in warm applause from all the guests and students. Many students said they benefits a lot from this lecture.
After the lecture, Professor Zhu Guanglei cheerfully visited the classroom, the corridor shared learning space, the stairs. To the advanced and complete teaching facilities, the cozy learning setting, and the creative teaching building culture with professional characteristics Professor Zhu gave high evaluation, and would like to recommend them other colleges.
The lecture is the teaching content of “Tourism science and Tourism People”, a new compulsory course for undergraduates opened by the College in 2019, and also an important part of “Nankai Tourism Lecture Hall”. In recent years, the College has actively implemented the “40 Rules of Nankai University”, improved the general education system, and gradually formed education mode of tourism discipline with characteristics on the basis of “combination of general education and specialty”. At present, two majors of the school have been approved as national first-class undergraduate major construction site. The College will continue to cultivate the new liberal arts major, create high-quality teaching building culture and the high-grade learning space, and contribute to the tourism education of Nankai.
