The APAC Annual Conference of the Travel and Tourism Research Association (TTRA), one of the top academic conferences in the field of international travel and tourism research, in 2020 was held online on December 7, 2020. Professor Qiu Hanqin, the Dean of the College of Tourism and Service Management, was invited to deliver a keynote speech titled “Teaching and Digital Competencies for the New Tourism Landscape”.

Dr. Li Chunxiao, the member of the seventh batch of “100 Young Academic Leaders Training Program” of Nankai University, Associate Professor from the College of Tourism and Service Management, and Doctoral Supervisor, was selected as the APAC Board Member of TTRA with an overwhelming majority of votes on the APAC Board Conference of TTRA, becoming the association’s first Board Member from a Chinese university. Dr. Li Chunxiao noted that the most fundamental object of tourism education is to create high-level knowledge and training that can serve the society and industry, and to churn out talents who can contribute to the development of tourism, which is a point highly consistent with the mission of the TTRA.

It's said that TTRA is the advocator of high-standard research, analysis and marketing in the tourism industry. It has been in existence for nearly 50 years and is highly influential in tourism-related academic research and practice. The College of Tourism and Service Management of Nankai University will assume the responsibility of tourism education in China, share the wisdom of China and make the voice of China heard through international platforms.
