(Correspondent: Dai Meiling, Chen Dongzhi) On the afternoon of August 17, the College of Tourism and Service Management negotiated with the People’s Government of Huaian District, Huaian City, Jiangsu Province about the strategic cooperation project therebetween, and successfully signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the latter thereafter. Wang Rui (member of the Standing Committee of Huaian District Party Committee, and executive deputy district head of Huaian District Government), Zhou Hongbing (general manager of Shanghai Mucheng Culture Communication Co., Ltd.), Huang Daojian (director of Huaian District Science & Technology Bureau), Xu Hongliang (director of Huaian District Culture, Broadcasting and Tourism Bureau), Zhou Peng (deputy director of Huaian District Government Affairs Management Service Center), Professor Xu Hong (secretary of the Party Committee of the College of Tourism and Service Management), Professor Qiu Hanqin (dean of the College of Tourism and Service Management), Professor Ma Xiaolong and Zhou Kaiwen (distinguished alumni of Nankai University, chairman of Beijing Kanghexi Health Technology Co., Ltd.) attended the negotiation meeting. This strategic cooperation aims to carry forward the spirits of Premier Zhou Enlai, practise General Secretary Xi’s instruction that “it is of great symbolic significance to well develop the hometown of Premier Zhou”, and strengthen and further contribute to the all-round and multi-level cooperation between Huaian District and the College of Tourism and Service Management.

Through this strategic cooperation, both parties hope to, following the principle of equality, voluntariness, fairness, honesty and credibility, achieve all-around cooperation in tourism plan compilation, talent cultivation promotion, talent base building, international conference organization and research base setup.

At first, Professor Xu Hong (secretary of the Party Committee of the College of Tourism and Service Management) delivered a welcome speech to welcome the representatives of the People’s Government of Huaian District, Jiangsu Province.

And then Professor Qiu Hanqin introduced Nankai University and the College of Tourism and Service Management to these representatives, further deepening their understanding of the College’s teaching staff, curriculum setting and future development plan, and facilitating their visit to the College.

The head of Huaian District said that as a national historical and cultural city, Huaian is the home to a galaxy of advanced culture and talents. It is the hometown of Premier Zhou Enlai, and is also the birthplace of Huaiyang cuisine. The cooperation between Huaian District and Nankai University (alma mater of Premier Zhou) is of profound significance, and is conducive to carrying forward the spirits of Premier Zhou Enlai and practising General Secretary Xi’s instruction that “it is of great symbolic significance to well develop the hometown of Premier Zhou”.

Finally, Wang Rui (member of the Standing Committee of Huaian District Party Committee, and executive deputy district head of Huaian District Government) conducted detailed communication and in-depth negotiation with the leaders of the College of Tourism and Service Management in terms of the requirements and thoughts regarding this strategic cooperation and the signing of the strategic cooperation agreement, with the strategic cooperation agreement being successfully signed between the People’s Government of huaian District and the College of Tourism and Service Management of Nankai University. Both parties will conduct in-depth cooperation in tourism plan compilation, talent cultivation promotion, talent base building, international conference organization and research base setup. This negotiation is the key to promoting the cooperation between Nankai University and local government. Nankai University will do the utmost to serve the hometown of Premier Zhou Enlai with its expertise.
