Recently, Tianjin Municipal Education Commission released the list of first-class undergraduate construction courses (offline, online-to-offline or social practice type) in 2019 in Tianjin. And the Global Tourism Development Trends presided over by Dean Qiu Hanqin was listed as one of the online-to-offline first-class courses.

The construction of first-class undergraduate courses is an important action taken by Tianjin to implement the spirits of the National Conference on Education and the National Conference on Undergraduate Education in New Era, promote the construction of high-level undergraduate education in Tianjin, advance the deep integration of modern information technology and teaching, strengthen the application and sharing of courses, improve the quality of talent cultivation, and contribute to educational equity. The construction period of municipal-level first-class courses is three years. And upon expiration of the construction period, Tianjin Municipal Education Commission will organize experts to review the courses concerned, with those qualified being granted with the title “First-class Undergraduate Course in Tianjin”.

This time, a total of 43 courses of Nankai University are granted with the aforesaid title, all first-class undergraduate courses in majors concerned. The Global Tourism Development Trends presided over by Dean Qiu Hanqin has been launched online via “XuetangX” (a famous online education platform in China), which will facilitate the learning of teachers and students in colleges of tourism across China. At present, the College of Tourism and Service Management is developing a new batch of first-class courses in line with the criteria for the best online-to-offline course, in hope of comprehensively improving the College’s undergraduate teaching level and cultivating first-class undergraduate talents.
