To enhance academic communications of our postgraduates, the 82th Fortnightly Review was held in Classroom 106 on November 15 to show the latest research results and explore frontier research. A report titled Spontaneous Evolution or Constructive Evolution?Tourism Market Order: Concept, Dimensionality, Evaluation and Innovative Regulatory System was given by Liu Yixue, a PhD Candidate of the College, sharing the research progress and experience under the guidance of Prof. Yao Yanbo. Moderated by Prof. Chen Ye, Vice-Dean for graduate studies and research, all doctoral students and postgraduates attended the Fortnightly Review under the organization and implementation of Mr. Han Dong.

Taking the academic research process as the mainline, the report mainly focused on background, design, process and conclusions of a research. Dr. Liu Yixue pointed out that China’s tourism, though booming, has to face the problem of irregular tourism market order that has existed for a long time, from the perspective of research background; and, what we must not ignore are the limitations in the study of tourism market order. In view of this, her study systematically researched China’s tourism market order using procedural and qualitative analysis method. Meanwhile, conceptual modes and analytical framework for tourism market order have been constructed by virtue of Churchill’s scale development process, Delphi method, analytic hierarchy process (AHP) etc. In combination with survey, interview and questionnaire, she carried out dimensional measurement and established a multi-azimuth evaluation system from the perspectives of regulation, enterprises and tourists, proposing and refining the new tourism market regulation system and its system arrangement in the new era.

Students who attended the lecture communicated and discussed with Dr. Liu Yixue focusing on the theme of tourism market order after the report. Prof. Liu Ye expressed advices for improving the research and discussed with participants as well. Liu Yixue also answered the questions of the students on research methods and contents.

The College has been engaged in creating a perfect academic communication platform for teachers and students. The research of Dr. Liu Yixue was not only advanced under the guidance of the tutor, Prof. Yao Yanbo, but also instructed and supported by other teachers in the College. (a) Prof. Qiu Hanqin instructed the development methods of scales. (b) Prof. Bai Changhong, Prof. Xu Hong, Prof. Ma Xiaolong, Associate Prof. Li Xiaoyi, and Dr. Zhang Rouran accepted the research interview and provided instructions. (c) Prof. Chen Ye, AssociateProf. Huang Jing, Prof. Li Hui, Associate Prof. Yu Haibo, Associate Prof. He Huiwen and other teachers, as experts, scored and assessed the scale content validity and evaluation system weightness. (d) Associate Prof. Qiu Wei and Dr. Li Chunxiao instructed the questionnaire as well. (e) Other teachers and students of the College also gave instructions and assistance. To this end, the College will continue to create the strong academic environment to help students grow rapidly.
