From October 18th to 21st, 2018, jointly organized by Beijing Union University and the magazine Management World, and jointly undertaken by the Tourism College of Beijing Union University and the Editorial Department of Tourism Tribune, the series of activities of the “Tourism Tribune China Tourism Research Annual Conference 2018” was successfully held at Beijing Beiyuan Hotel. Prof. Qiu Hanqin, dean of our college, Prof. Chen Ye, Li Chunxiao, and Tuo Yanzheng, and 19 doctoral students, postgraduates and undergraduates attended the annual conference.
With the theme of “China Tourism Development Strategy in the New Era”, leaders of relevant units, famous domestic and foreign tourism experts, outstanding young scholars and representatives from various universities were invited to attend the conference. The conference discussed the forefront issues on the integration of theory and practice, including tourism supply and management of tourist destination in the new era, comprehensive tourism evaluation and regional coordinated development, rural tourism to promote rural revitalization, cultural tourism and cultural self-confidence, national parks and green development, quality tourism: market growth and government regulation, and held six parallel sub-forums.
On the morning of the 20th, Prof. Qiu Hanqin, dean of our college, made a report themed China Tourism Education and Research Innovation in the New Era at the annual conference. The idea, “Tourism Education Should Benefit More Students Through the Network Technology in the New Era”, proposed by Prof. Qiu Hanqin, has been unanimously recognized by everyone and has triggered in-depth discussions among the guests. In the afternoon, Prof. Chen Ye, deputy dean of our college, commented on the papers and reports of the first sub-forum “Tourism Supply and Management of Tourist Destination in the New Era” and exchanged ideas with other commentators.
Furthermore, Li Chunxiao, a lecturer from the College of Tourism and Service Management, Hua Chenggang, Wei Mingqiu, Zhang Xiao, Liu Yixue, doctoral candidates, and Dai Meiling, a postgraduate, participated in the reports of five sub-forums, i.e., “Tourism Supply and Management of Tourist Destination in the New Era”, “Comprehensive Tourism Benefit Evaluation and Regional Coordinated Development”, “National Parks and Green Development”, “Quality Tourism: Market Growth and Government Regulation” and “Comprehensive Tourism Benefit Evaluation and Regional Coordinated Development”, and exchanged opinions with the commentators and received their guidance.
The conference papers were evaluated anonymously by the editorial board of the Tourism Tribune, and 10 excellent conference papers were selected and awarded at the closing ceremony. The paper, Sense Impression: The Gain Solution of Tourist Loyalty, Li Chunxiao contributed to, stood out in many papers and was selected as the excellent paper of this annual conference.
