Recently, the Gansu Provincial Government Office issued the Work Planfor the Establishment of theGansu Tourism Think Tank (hereinafter referred to as the Plan) and decided to establish the Gansu Tourism Think Tank. Its first batch of 36 experts were composed of well-known entrepreneurs, domestic authoritative experts and scholars, and experts and scholars in Gansu Province. Prof. Shi Peihua of the College of Tourism and Service Management was appointed as the director of the Gansu Tourism Think Tank Expert Committee.

The Plan clearly clarifies that the Gansu Tourism Think Tank is a think tank for the tourism development of Gansu. It focuses on the overall, strategic and realistic issues of tourism in Gansu, and gives full play to the role of strategic planning, forward-looking research and judgment, financial and political assistance, social services and talents cultivation, etc. to provide an intellectual support institution with diversified and high-level services for reformation and innovation of tourism. It serves as an institution to support the development of tourism in Gansu Province.  Its main functions include providing intellectual services for the decisions and arrangements, providing research results for solving major problems, offering advice and suggestions for the development of tourism, providing argument and review support for major tourism development projects, and giving intellectual and resource support for the construction of tourism talent team in Gansu Province.

According to the Plan, the Gansu Tourism Think Tank Expert Committee was established. Prof. Shi Peihua of our college was appointed as the director, to provide intellectual support for the transformation and upgrading of tourism in Gansu Province.
