On November 27, the “Wan An Zhe Ren” team of our School consisting of five students, namely Tian Zheren, Yang Yujie, Feng Haoyan, Su Yuhan and Wang Yuhan, have won the second prize in the finals of the sixth Competition of Proposals on the Protection and Sustainable Use of World Heritages for College Students Nationwide!
As an innovative competition event in the industry of tourism, the "Competition of Proposals on the Protection and Sustainable Use of World Heritages for College Students Nationwide" is a tourist innovative competition, designed to strengthen and promote the attention of multi-disciplinary college students as well as experts and scholars and also participants in the industry to the protection and sustainable use of world heritages, enhance interdisciplinary understanding and supply exchange platform for talents cultivation oriented at the protection and sustainable use of world heritages. Mr. Zhang Chaozhi (deputy dean of the School of Tourism of Zhongshan University), Professor Zhang Jie (director of Tourism Research Institute of Nanjing University) and Wang Jue (international activity project executive of Chinese Committee for the International Council on Monuments and Sites) served as judges of this competition.
During this competition, “Wan An Zhe Ren” team submitted the works themed by" 'Here Comes Immense Running Water, and The Smoke Curl up in Southern Anhui' -- Proposal on the Protection and Sustainable Use of Ancient Village Sites in Southern Anhui", which, taking Village Xidihong as an example, proposed to introduce social capital in the mode of PPP under the support and supervision of non-profiting organizations and then create “three-district” mode using capital introduced, thus alleviating tourism bearing stress and residents’ residential stress and coordinating surrounding environment by means of novelty heritage activation concept.
During this semester, the students of our School have actively participated many national large-scale competitions acquired excellent achievements, especially the World Heritage Competition mentioned above. Although it was the first time for us to participate in the competition related to world heritage, we still won the second prize finally withthe favor of judges and other participants which has shown the strong strength of the School of Tourism and Service Management of Nankai University as “Huangpu Military Academy in the field of tourism” and greatly strengthened the sense of pride and self-confidence of our School’s teachers and students.
