On November 8, after five-years' serious preparations, Guangdong Tourism Planning and Marketing Association officially declared its establishment, and became the first professional social organization enjoying the status of an independent legal person in the industry of tourism planning and marketing promotion in China. Its establishment conference & first general meeting was held in International Conference Center located at Floor 1 of Sunshine Hotel. Su Hongyu, an alumnus enrolled 1987 and the president of Shenzhen Model Tourism Project Design Co., Ltd. was present in the conference and selected as deputy director of the association.
Bao Jigang (deputy director of China Tourism Administration, director of UNWTO Tourist Sustainable Development Observation Points Management and Supervision Center, dean of the School of Tourism of Zhongshan University) was selected as the first director, who issued the plaque reading “deputy director unit of Guangdong Tourism Planning and Marketing Association” to 16 co-sponsoring units, including Shenzhen Model Tourism Project Design Co., Ltd..
China Tourism Association also sent its congratulatory letter and expressed its hope that Guangdong Tourism Planning and Marketing Association can fully play its guiding role and integration effect as guide effect and assembly effect in “tourism think tank” and “marketing cluster”, then become a demonstrative social organization in national tourism planning and marketing industry.
