In the afternoon of October 29, 2017, Professor YE Qiang (dean of School of Management of Harbin Institute of Technology) visited our School on invitation and shared with the teachers and students of our School a lecture themed by “hotel management research based on social media data under the background of big data and artificial intelligence”. the lecture was directed by Deputy Dean Xu Hong with partial teachers, doctoral students, master students and undergraduates of our School as participants.

Professor Ye Qiang introduced the development of big data and artificial intelligence over the recent decade on the first place, analyzed their main characteristics and practical applications, and then shared the two achievements of his research team themed respectively by, "influence of hotel enterprises’' management feedback to online comments on users’ behaviors" and "influence of the number of times of stock code of hotel enterprises in search engine on stock price". These two researches involved the application of big data in the field of tourism and thus can enable students to intuitively feel the application of big data in management research.
