During the period from August 31 to September 1 (Correspondent Xu Tong), 2017 Annual Meeting of Asian Tourism Industry, cosponsored by Collaborative Innovation Center for the Development of Modern Tourism Industry, the School of Tourism and Service Management of Nankai University and 21st Century Business Herald was held in Shanghai.

The "Belt and Road" concept and initiative (namely "Silk Road Economic Belt" and "21st Century Maritime Silk Road") proposed by Secretary General XiJinping in 2013 has supplied unprecedented opportunities and development space for tourism and already provided a new prospective and direction for the development of tourism industry, which is of great significance to the planning of new development pattern for Chinese tourism industry and the further promotion of Asian tourism cooperation.

Themed by "Belt and Road, new kinetic energy for Asian tourism industry", the session of Annual Meeting of Asian Tourism Industry focuses on the “Belt and Road” strategy of China, the development of tourist destinations, the investment and innovation of tourism industry, consumption upgrade of hotel industry in the 21st century and other tourism-related hot topics.  

This session of annual meeting has been widely acclaimed and praised for its globalized international view, farsighted vision, close integration with the current situations of contemporary economy , society. In the future, the School of Tourism and Service Management of Nankai University and 21st Century Business Herald will continuously strengthen their cooperation to jointly supply upmarket exchange platform for the development of Asian tourism industry and contribute efforts to the development of Asian and global tourism industry.
