The School of Tourism and Service Management became one of the founder members of China-ASEAN Tourism Education Alliance, thus better serving the “Belt and Road” Strategy of our country

On May 29 (Correspondent WANG Bin), Professor Bai Changhong (dean of our School) was present at China-ASEAN Tourism Education Alliance establishment conference on behalf of Nankai University, signed the Declaration on the Establishment of China-ASEAN Tourism Education Alliance and witnessed the establishment of the alliance.  


In the member unit introduction link, Dean BAI introduced the 36-year development history of Nankai tourism education, such teaching unit setup as 6 departments and 2 education centers, undergraduate, master’s, doctoral and post-doctoral programs, 5 research centers and long-term think tank services supplied by Nankai University for such major issues as tourism talent cultivation, tourism theory and industry research and Chinese and world tourism development, so as to deepen the recognition and understanding of other member units of China-ASEAN Tourism Education Alliance on Nankai University tourism education.

It is reported that the exchange week mentioned above is themed by “join hands in the ten-year education and make new progresses in the ‘Belt and Road’”. Unifying the superior strengths of China-ASEAN higher-level tourism education, China-ASEAN Tourism Education Alliance endeavors to structure China-ASEAN regional tourism education cooperation mechanism and jointly promote the prosperity and development of the cultivation of China-ASEAN high-level tourism talents and the exchanges of high-level tourism education, thus supplying a cooperative and win-win platform for China-ASEAN exchanges and cooperation in tourism education. The alliance is designed to,  cultivate high-caliber tourism talents, promote the development of China-ASEAN tourism industry, expand humanity communications and solidify the basis for regional peace, through tourism education cooperation and exchanges and it will, adhering to the concept of “sharing · integration · development”, structure the China-ASEAN tourism education community and promote mutual development jointly. The alliance has totally 19 founder members, including 10 colleges of tourism from such ASEAN countries as Thailand, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Singapore, Indonesia, Brunei, Philippines, Myanmar and Malaysia and 8 Chinese colleges of tourism, 1 Chinese tourism enterprise. Yu Changguo (deputy director of the Personnel Department of National Tourism Administration) , RenGan Lin (director of Tourism Development Commission of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region),Yang Xiu ping(secretary general of China-ASEAN center) Wang Hui(deputy director of the International Division of Ministry of Education) all have delivered speeches at the establishment conference of the alliance.
