On June 24, Nankai University held 2017 campus opening day, during which Mr. Li Zhong, deputy secretary of our School’s Party Committee and also deputy dean of our School, Mr. Yang Dejin and Mrs. Tuo Yanzhen from the Department of Tourism Management, Mr. Zhou Jie from the Department of MICE Management, Mr. Wang Shan from the exchange and cooperation office, Mr. Gao Yang from the Youth League Committee and undergraduates 2015 of our School set up a point position in Dazhong Road of Balitai Campus to supply counselling service regarding the college entrance examination for examinees.

While supplying counselling service, we were asked by many examinees and their parents such questions regarding the major of tourism as “how is the major developed in recent years?”, “what can we do in the future if studying tourism-related majors?”, “what are the main learning contents of the tourism and MICE major?” and “when will the tourism and MICE major separate?”. In response to the active inquiries of examinees and their parents, the teachers and students of our School gave specific replies one by one. Both tourism and MICE belong to emerging disciplines and sun-rising industries occurred in recent years, and they are expected to have large development potential and great employment situation in the recent years. Meanwhile, starting from undergraduates 2016, the major of tourism and MICE management will implement enrollment in large category, which means that students can select subdivided majors for subsequent learning according to their interests in their sophomore year, thus making them free from the entanglement on subdivided majors when filling their intentions for university.
