On June 18, the Ninth Annual Meeting of China MICE Education was held in Shanghai Normal University. Professor Kang Nian, vice-chancellor of Shanghai Normal University, professor Gao Jun and professor Ma Yong, deputy director of Teaching Guidance Committee of Tourism Management Specialty of Ministry of Education, professor Liu Dake, dean of ETE Department of Beijing International Studies University and Liu Haiying, general manager of National Convention Center took part in the meeting and delivered speeches on themes of “new propositions of reform of MICE major in China’s Institutes of Higher Learning”, “co-development of MICE in Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei” and “promoting the development of conference industry based on three conference market demands”.

Associate Professor Zhou Jie, deputy director of the Department of MICE Management of our School was invited to attend the meeting. During the “special theme of MICE research”, he delivered a speech themed with “thinking on ten relations in MICE education, scientific research and practice”, made a report on the relationship among “positivist thinking and normative thinking in the MICE research”, “application ability and research consciousness in MICE talents training”, “practical teaching and classroom teaching in MICE education” and “project management and governance in MICE practice” and exchanged with delegates. In addition, other delegates focused on “optimization of MICE curriculum system”, “shaping of experiential teaching model” and “research frontiers of international activities”. This meeting has provided valuable information and experience for the further development of our MICE discipline.
